Opening Hours and Booking
In line with Government advice on avoiding non-essential social contact, Hartlepool Borough Council and the National Museum of the Royal Navy has taken the decision to close the Museum of Hartlepool from Thursday 5th November until further notice.
Summer: (April 2020– 3rd November 2020)
10.00am – 5pm daily
Winter: (4th November 2020 – March 2021)
11am – 4pm daily

Learning hire boxes are collected and returned to Sir William Gray House, Clarence Rd, Hartlepool TS24 8BT.

The Museum of Hartlepool is located on the outskirts of Hartlepool Town Centre, alongside Jackson’s Dock. The Museum is a short 15-minute walk from Middleton Grange Shopping Centre.
Hartlepool Train Station and the Hartlepool Transport Interchange is an 8-minute walk from the Museum, involving a slight incline on the bridge over the railway lines.

Several busses stop on Marina Way just outside the Museum, these are Stagecoach Hartlepool 1 and 7, Stagecoach Teesside 36, Arriva Durham 23 and 24 and Go North East 55 and 55X Accessible parking.
There is a large car park alongside the Museum with 8 accessible parking bays and a dropped kerb to the entrance of the Museum
From the North
Take the A19 Southbound and take the exit at the A179. Follow the brown tourist and attractions signs to the Museum. Once you reach the roundabout at the top of Maritime Avenue with a large buoy in the middle, head for the masts of HMS Trincomalee. Take the second left then the next left again which will bring you to our car park.
From the South
Take the A1M northbound and exit at junction 49 (A168/A19) signposted Teesside. Exit the A19 at the A689 and follow the brown tourist and attraction signs to the Museum.
Keeping going straight on at each set of lights and each roundabout.
When you come to the lights at the junction between Victoria Road and Stockton Street, Wilkinsons is on your left, go straight ahead, past Asda and Boots and with Dunelm on your left, take the 4th exit at the roundabout. Head for the masts of HMS Trincomalee. Take the second left then the next left again which will bring you to our car park.
