About the Exhibition

Edward Clarke studied at the Royal Academy of Art in London, where he gained prizes for both landscape and portraiture.

He has exhibited in various solo and group shows. This exhibition features a series of landscape drawings in charcoal taken from cities in England and Europe.

These include Krakow, Rome, Portugal, Newcastle and also Hartlepool.

The beautiful architecture of these places is a strong feature of the works, which are all incredibly detailed and intensely observed.

There are also a number of portraits on display, which are good examples of the artists’ precise and analytical approach to portraiture.
